The well told story of the breed
The Story of the Burmilla breed begins in 1981- the exciting outcome of true love. Chinchilla Jemari Sanquist mated Burmese female Bamino Lilac Faberge and happily four females, all Black shaded silver, were born on 11th September.
Gemma, one of these girls went on to become the foundation member of the Kartush line.
About 1995, Robin Moller and Mrs L Burgess gained approval from NSW authorities of the FIFe breeding Policy and Bred Standard to establish the breed down-under. Their newly formed Burmilla Breeders Association of Australia has become very active and thriving club, doing extremely well in the show ring against other breeds.
In the year 2000 two Kartush kittens, a male and a female took up residence with Mrs L Burgess and Robin Moller respectively with the aim of starting new half lines.
This is where my Boy Hindmarsh Silver Bruno comes into the picture, his grandmother is Kartush Senuphar (Imp.UK).
My girls “Sally” and “Chechi” in the past 2 years have endeared themselves to all who have met them, but most of all to me. I have found them to have wonderful and affectionate natures, the next best thing to having a Burmilla is having two.
Burmillas come in different colours, shaded or tipped, their coats are easy maintenance - requiring only the occasional brush. Bonding is easily achieved with regular brushing and stroking.
